Upcoming Race: Tough Mudder
The Fab5 signed up for the Tough Mudder in Temecula. We, of course, committed to this over cocktails after one of our long runs. According to The Fisherman, it's a combination of Adventure Racing, Mud Runs and Long Runs. Sounded good to me!
Then I went to register. And when I was forced to pay for insurance, in order to register for the race... I thought, what the hell has The Fisherman gotten us into!?
Honestly, it makes me excited. My mind is very curious just how hard this Tough Mudder will be. We are all endurance athletes... but according to the website, "the toughest event on the planet" (and videos), this looks hard!
And to make things interesting (or because we had three beers in us at the time) the group decided we should dress in costume for the race. Fantastic!
Race prices go up starting tomorrow... http://toughmudder.com/events/socal/
We aren't registered until end of February, so there's time to work on my push ups and arm curls!
In the meantime, I'll focus on hill training to prepare for the Crystal Cove Xterra, 12/11. George and I have climbed up to 4 miles for "homework mileage" and she'll be up to 6 miles on Sunday for her longest, Long Run.
Currently we are trekkin' along with 11 miles under our belt. Tonight I promised her a 4 miler...
